Parenthood: Part 2-Pain

The other day, my daughter went in for the round of shots that all two month olds go through.  She was given three shots and had o have oral medication.  The experience only lasted a few minutes, but you could tell that she was not having fun during the process.

She cried for a little while afterward, but it was a tough process for my wife and I to watch as parents.  It’s tough to see your kid go through pain.  You never want to see them hurting.

I know that God wants only good things for us.  He wants to see us happy.  But then there are times when God wants to stretch us.  He’ll put us in situations that may be uncomfortable for us, but the end goal is to make us grow as children of His.

I know that this was the first of many of these experiences for me.  I know that it will be hard to watch my kid fall off her bike, or get injured while playing sports.  I will be a very nervous parent.  My daughter is so precious to me.  With that thought, how more precious are we all to God?
